This position is located in the Federal Law Enforcement Communications Center, Phoenix, AZ. Information about Phoenix and the local area can be found at Phoenix, AZ. U.S. Citizenship is required Be sure to read the How to Apply and Required Documents Sections You cannot hold an active real estate license, nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Land Direct Deposit Required The incumbent serves as the on-site Lead Dispatcher to 3 or more dispatchers providing direction and support coordination activities in an Interagency Law Enforcement Communications Center providing full service 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Maintains on-site access to and performs computerized investigations and searches utilizing the following systems: - Arizona Criminal Justice Information Systems (ACJIS) - National Crime Information Center (NCIC) - National Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (NLETS). Serves as a public emergency answering point for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service (NPS), United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USF&WS;) and the United States Forest Service (USFS). Supports multi agency, Homeland Security and counter narcotics efforts on the international border of The United States and The Republic of Mexico. Provides administrative tracking for multiple BLM units. Serves as the point of contact for scheduling aircraft for Statewide Law Enforcement flights.
This position requires regular and recurring overtime and rotating shift (nights, weekends, & holidays) work.
This position requires a qualified typist, able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. For GS-08: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level or equivalant in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include but are not limited to: Work involving providing assistance to Law Enforcement personnel in the field, as well as emergency assistance to the general public; eliciting critical information from reporting parties, who may be hysterical, hostile, uncooperative, traumatized, and/or injured, or who have other communications impediments. Experience using criminal incident reporting systems. Experience operating a multi-channel radio and computer aided dispatch system. Experience monitoring radio traffic effectively. The incumbent has little or no control over the volume of incoming tasks or their urgency. The work involves complex multi-tasking using multiple computer aided systems simultaneously while responding to potentially life threatening or catastrophic emergencies. The incumbent must be able to coordinate radio and telephone communications while operating diverse computer systems under rigid constraints of time procedure. The majority of the work is conducted in an office setting with adequate lighting and environmental control. The work involves periods of potentially stressful situations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
