Maintenance/Operations Manager

Summary:
Manages and directs the maintenance programs and processes of the assigned plant(s) to ensure timely and effective production.
Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
Ensures effective employee relations.
Provides employee coaching and development.
Makes employment decisions.
Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Manage the long term goals and daily activities of the Maintenance Department.
Direct long term initiatives related to machinery, tooling, and plant infrastructure.
Manage various technical projects, such as new equipment installation and energy conservation.
Ensures that the working environment meets the required safety standards, and that his direct reports receive the necessary safety training.
Establish preventive maintenance on all production machines
Establish a predictive maintenance system for all machines to include oil analysis, infrared thermography, and vibration analysis.
Work closely with the Production Manager to maximize machine run time.
Maintains and repairs maintenance shop equipment.
Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
Maintain for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
Also track machine downtime for preventive and reactive circumstances.
Maintains adherence to company policies and procedures.
Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
Performs accident investigations.
Tracks absenteeism and time-keeping.
Attends safety meetings and training and follows all safety guidelines.
Participates in job and leadership training as organized by Management.
Learns new systems and methods when necessary.

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong experience executing cost-effective corporate contracts and negotiation. Ability to handle multiple priorities and react quickly to emergency situations. Sense of urgency and drive to complete projects, respond to problems, and establish systems to minimize either planned or unplanned disruptions of manufacturing. Thorough knowledge of CMMS and predictive preventive maintenance programs. Experience in the Food Dairy industry is a plus
EDUCATION and or
Experience: Bachelors or Associate degree in a Technical Field is preferred. Experience in Maintenance management, with a solid track record of predictive preventive maintenance experience required. Six Sigma certification a plus. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement preferred.
