IT Real Time Systems Manager is responsible for the NERC CIP Compliance oversight for Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) and compliance activities associated with compute and storage assets. Responsibilities include the Real Times Systems (RTSs) engineering, domain architecture and high level design associated with the Energy Management System (EMS), Advance Distribution Management System (ADMS), Advance Grid Technologies (AGT) and Power Plant Human to Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to support the line of business objectives. This is an oversight and leadership role responsible for achieving compliance, implementing and improving systems best practices, knowledge transfer, architectural and design issues toward improving operational excellence in Real Time Systems. Expertise in best practices for Infrastructure and Operation of Real Time Systems (RTSs). Understanding working with complexities and issues associated with RTSs. Serve as the subject matter expert in NERC CIP compliance issues as an Asset Owner and Activity Leader for compute and storage infrastructure. Proficient in hardware, software and services associated with RTSs in Power Plants, Substations, Feeders and Lines as well at customer metering. Serve as the IT SMC in the use of IT technology utilized in the different real time systems and where vendor specific applications exist and must be maintained. Leverage vendor capability and quality of support in services delivery to ensure the company receives the most value for its investment. Define SOW and schedule contract milestone for IT service contracts (i.e. projects or system support services). Ability to manage SMEs with systems knowledge and support in the context of meeting business objectives and desired outcomes versus costly vendor services for non-specialized support agreements. Drive the leveraging of IT Standards and Services without impacting system performance and Tier 3 vendor support of RTSs. Minimum Requirements Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business or related degree or equivalent work experience. PLUS 8-10 years progressively responsible related experience in area/s of assignment is required to obtain an advanced understanding of information and/or communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment and infrastructure. Demonstrated leadership skills required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. D Extensive experience in the development, integration, and support of information and communication systems applications, distributed and mainframe environments, network architecture and sub-systems, distributed and mainframe server architectures cross platform interfaces. Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications Full knowledge of IT Real Time Systems for an EMS, ADMS or Power Plants Experience with what makes Real Time IT Systems different than Business IT Systems Ability to maintain composure in critical RTS and IT incidents, communicating effectively with both internal IT and business relationship clients Build strong relationships with key vendors and the internal IT organization to ensure delivery of IT services Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems; Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of overall relationships and services across the IT organization Demonstrated ability to lead using informal authority and personal influence to drive departmental and organizational objectives Ability to perform advanced system and process analysis, verification and mediation.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
