The Recreation and Wellness Coordinator is the perfect position for a determined, experienced recreation and/or exercise science professional looking for an exciting and rewarding career opportunity supervising teams supporting young people to overcome challenges and recognize their potential.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for coordinating the behavioral health services with an emphasis on physical wellbeing to promote healing, stress reduction, and experiential learning through exercise and play.
The applicant must demonstrate an ability to relate to and build positive connections with children and adults, be comfortable working in a strength-based and family-centered way and be able to work effectively within a team environment.
Coordinators must demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with families, Child and Family Teams members (stakeholders, therapists, case managers, etc.
) and agency management.
Other key functions of this position include:
facilitating therapeutic physical well being groups, keeping an activities agenda, measuring progress and outcomes of services provided, and working one on one with youth and their families to promote health.

Flexibility in scheduling, willingness to drive to different cities within Maricopa County, and work within the homes/communities of the families we work with is required.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years or older.
Minimum of five (5) years related work experience with youth and families in the field of coaching, teaching, and or mentoring kids and families- Bachelors Degree preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred Bilingual (Spanish) a plus! Reliable transportation is required, including proof of insurance and an acceptable driving record.
Candidates are required to submit a negative substance abuse test and be able to obtain fingerprint and criminal history background clearance.
CPR and First Aid are required trainings that are provided by the agency.
