This position will be responsible for all driver training functions for the company.
We are seeking to hire experienced and highly qualified Driver Trainer to promote and maintain a positive learning environment.
This position works closely with the HR & Safety teams, and reports to the Director of Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities Conduct Driving Test for Potential CDL Drivers Conduct weekly orientation for onboarding new drivers Conduct Smith System Defensive Driving Course (We will train the trainer) Conduct weekly remedial training classes on various safety and driving items Develop curriculum and design training courses; Conduct needs assessment and identify performance gaps and implementing training best practices to ensure alignment with company needs; Utilize a variety of techniques, concepts and development and delivery of training programs and strategies; Manage the learning experience consistent with company philosophy, culture and strategy; Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Training & Experience Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Experience or willingness to learn computer software Experience and knowledge in Geotab a plus, but not required Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively Must be able to handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism Must have knowledge of FMCSA and OSHA regulations 2 years of training experience, this may include teaching or public speaking experience 5 years CDL Driving experience Special Requirements Possession of class A Commercial Driver's license.
