2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of AmericaPOSITIONS PRIMARY FUNCTION:
U-Haul Self-Storage Department is looking for a Storage Security Specialist that will be responsible for establishing and implementing appropriate security systems programs and procedures as well as coordinating establishment of new and conversion construction projects' security protocols defined by various UHI policies through various internal teams.
The ideal candidate is also expected to effectively engage communication with U-Haul field staff as well as resident construction/security team to have a hand in seeing the overall implementation, maintenance, and development of security needs of UHI owned and operated locations.
The candidate is also desired to possess high technical expertise, very strong verbal and written communication, a prominent level of attention to detail and very well organized.
We are looking for a person that can work independently, efficiently, communicate effectively, and has a strong diligence that will support our field teams in U.
S.
states and Canadian provinces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Function as a subject matter expert related to all UHI security systems for division VP and other UHI executives.
Establish and maintain appropriate self-storage security policies and procedures for UHI self-storage department.
Research/Analyze competitor security systems for all areas that UHI Storage Division operates and monitor trends over time, determine the need for a system change and make recommendations.
Coordinate storage access data retrieval in conjunction with Storage Business Analytics team to further analyze customer access patterns and trends and report on solutions to be implemented.
Retrieve and maintain reporting and data needs for UHI Legal Department, claims department and other internal shareholders.
Conduct research and lead the implementation of future security systems particularly cloud based models.
Lead development efforts for implementation of new security technologies and its applications such as Bluetooth locks and U-Haul app integration Resolve operational challenges via continued communication with U-Haul field teams.
Command an open communication channel for field teams in regards to security equipment including burglar alarm systems, CCTV, intercom, and access systems for existing and new sites.
Ensure all U-Haul self-storage operations are within the boundaries of company policies and procedures, continue to be part of their development and update.
Provide support to U-Haul Field executives with analysis and data in regard to security expertise needed in both planning and implementation phases.
Coordinate creation/delivery of security systems education materials for corporate and field teams such as:
system components, systems maintenance, basic troubleshooting, ordering parts needed, as well as other signage needed via resident technical specialists within UHI construction security department.
Maintain and develop location gate and access signage solutions for current and future locations.
Interpret security plan and diagrams provided to make sure that the current implementation is accurate and coordinate current/future updates via various internal teams.
Effectively inquire and correspond to all related U-Haul teams with security systems development and facility implementation and provide related changes to related documentation concisely and accurately.
Provide phone support with field questions and technical direction for all systems in place.
Provide Installation knowledge, service, and troubleshooting of a variety of Gate access Systems (PTI, Open-tech, Sentinel Systems, Door king etc.
) as well as various burglar alarm systems, intercom, access, and camera systems.
Assist with material requisition requests for development or acquisition project.
Instruct end users & U-Haul field staff on the proper use of all installed equipment, and address questions or concerns.
Provide technical Q&A function for system testing, troubleshooting and signal verification.
Actively coordinating internal teams for successful delivery of projects OTHER DUTIES PERFORMED OCCASIONALLY OR INFREQUENTLY:
Perform special projects assigned by division VP and other U-Haul senior management.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma.
Experience:
Min of 10 years of security systems experience required.
SKILLS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/TOOLS:
Professional Knowledge (desired):
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Extensive know how on current security systems available.
TOOLS/MACHINERY:
Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as photocopier, personal computer, printers, and multi-line telephone.
