Veterans DutiesThis position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters - State, Personal Staff, Public Affairs Office (PAO).
The primary purpose of the position is to assist the state's Public Affairs (PA) Officer at the strategic and operational level, with particular emphasis on developing segments of more complicated or sensitive communications campaigns and executing the National Guard Bureau's (NGB's) communication objectives.
Monitor social media platforms for mentions, comments and inquires and responding timely and accurately.
Utilizing multiple social media platforms as well as social media management tools to convey information and publicize the organization's mission.
Monitor subordinate organizational accounts for appropriate professional content and provide feedback and advice to page managers based on analysis of content effectiveness.
Develop modern and engaging multimedia campaigns and content that promote public awareness and messaging of the organization and supports mission using appropriate virtual communication tools to reach intended audience.
Collaborate with partner entities to increase message effectiveness.
Write a variety of articles and social media posts conveying information and clarifying the Agency operations, programs and activities to specialized audiences and the general public.
Manage teams, overseeing content creation, scheduling posts, analyzing metrics, fostering engagement, and ensuring agency presence across all platforms.
Produce quality stories, photos, graphics and video products that educate the intended audience about National Guard opportunities, benefits and mission.
Assist office in additional duties as assigned by the Public Affairs Officer.
Requirements Conditions of Employment Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer Program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver?s license.

QualificationsSPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training involving a thorough knowledge of social media platforms, writing and communication principles, methods and techniques that relate to public affairs of the military.
Experience developing content and new information materials including reels, posts, news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots, etc.

Experience developing social media campaigns, utilizing digital analytics and staying updated with emerging trends in digital communication.
Experience making on-the-spot presentations to audiences with opposing points of view or erroneous understanding of agency positions.
Experience responding timely and appropriately to requests for information concerning agency programs and services.
