About the TeamThe Customer Experience (Marketing) team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love.
They work to provide a personalized experience for our consumers backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities.
The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments including, Marketing, Creative, Communications, and our Loyalty & CRM team.
Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for the pets and pet parents.
About the LocationHybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart's FlexSmart policy and business needs.
A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity.
Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.
About the JobSUMMARYAs part of the in-house creative team, the Creative Director, Copy is responsible for leading an in-house copy team through the vision, development and implementation of our multi-channel brand expression.
The Creative Director, Copy provides strategic direction and oversight to effectively translate strategy into brand-enhancing and revenue-generating initiatives with a focus on the digital and in-store customer journey.
In partnership with the Creative Directors and VP Creative, this position will passionately bring the PetSmart brand to life across multiple channels for a consistent brand experience.
Essential duties and responsibilitiesPartner with In-Store and Digital Creative Directors to interpret strategies and brand platforms to develop high-quality marketing campaigns that cohesively integrate the needs of a constantly evolving, fast-paced, multi-channel business to build the brand and drive transactions on both site and in store.
Master influencer of others as well as an articulate presenter to enable you to sell your ideas and solutions across the organization.
Ability to interface clearly and confidently with executive management.
Play a key role in building a beloved brand as a resourceful, collaborative, and highly effective creative leader.
Seamlessly toggle between managing and leading the creative team to writing out-of-the-box messaging.
Data driven leader who understands how to coordinate brand, business, and customer needs to drive traffic and conversion in digital media, email, site/web, video, in-store signage/marketing materials.
Partner with VP Creative and agency partners to continuously evolve and achieve elevated brand messaging through authentic, compelling, and purposeful copy.
Collaborates with brand, project management, marketing and design to deliver performance driven customer centric messaging.
Ensure PetSmart brand differentiation in the market through impactful messaging.
Manage and Inspire teams to generate conceptual ideas that can be translated into execution at a rapid pace for an integrated marketing experience.
Enables collaborative teamwork.
Exceptional communicator across all levels of interaction.
Create and support an inclusive, authentic environment where diverse opinions are encouraged and respected.
Quickly learns and has a full understanding of all things PetSmart including pet safety rules, regulations, legal, brand guidelines and can speak to the intricacies of such details.
Cultivate a creative environment by directing and delivering on the creative vision while inspiring and encouraging the team to push for smarter, more creative solutions.
Advocate for fresh, new creative approaches while not being afraid to evolve the brand.
Develop relationships with key business partners to gain a deep understanding of the business in order to lead the creative direction and deliver flawless, on-strategy executions.
Lead team to own the brand tone of voice and copy guidelines to help others deliver impactful creative work and differentiate PetSmart from other brands.
Establish goals and manage work for the creative group.
Help team members to personally develop and grow through direct and actionable feedback.
Growth mindset mentality of always learning about conversion, accessibility, digital best practices, and emerging technologies.
Required SkillsAbility to coach & mentor creative team and provide guidance to creatives ranging from junior to more experienced team members.
Ability to provide clear feedback and guide creative ideas while ensuring the creative strategically answers the brief.
Advertising experience required (with some of the experience within an Ad Agency ideally).
Retail experience preferred.
Advanced understanding and comfort with common creative tools like Adobe creative suite and Microsoft OfficeAdvanced understanding of email, web and digital capabilities, limitations, and best practicesEffective time management skills for a robust and fast-paced creative processAble to deliver clear and timely creative solutions based on feedback, deadlines, and project constraints.

Experience overseeing/working with full-time staff, freelancers and agencies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
