Summary:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating the daily production schedule for the packaging lines at the Phoenix facility.
This role is responsible for ensuring that the production schedule is communicated and understood and that required materials are ordered and on hand before the scheduled start of the work orders.
The Production Scheduler works closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate planning, material ordering, and schedule execution/attainment.
Compensation:
$23/hr - $25/hr Employees may be assigned to perform any task for which they have been qualified.
Employees may also be assigned to positions / tasks for which they are working to become qualified as a portion of the training process.
Responsibilities:
This is considered a safety sensitive position, therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.
Primary Duties &
Responsibilities:
Promotes and fosters an environment where safety and quality are the top priorities Adheres to and enforces all safety, quality, and production policies and procedures Maintains company safety standards, addresses issues and reports all unsafe conditions to appropriate individuals Reports all EHS incidents promptly and continually indoctrinates employees with safety principles and practices Establishes personal contact with workforce to ensure high employee morale and cooperation Ensures completion of the production schedule and communication of the production schedule and related deadlines Ensures quality and customer requirements are met Completes/ensures completion of all required documentation Performs various purchasing, inventory, and inventory tracking responsibilities Monitor raw materials inventory to ensure there are no shortages Manages MRP, inventory levels, and schedule attainment Assists supervisors and other assigned employees when required Performs duties of various plant roles when needed Interfaces/communicates with other departments to ensure successful and timely completion of tasks Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving Other Duties &

Experience:

years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the English language (ability to read, write, speak and understand) is required.
Mechanical knowledge is strongly preferred.
Microsoft Office and data entry skills required.
Effective communication skills are required.

The ability to effectively instruct/transfer job information/knowledge to others as needed is required.
The ability to operate mobile equipment is strongly preferred.
The employee is expected to be self-directed and take initiative when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting from the supervisor.

Experience:
2 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
Preferred experience in scheduling or purchasing.
ASCM CPIM certification recommended but not required.
Required safety, quality and on the job training will be provided.
Work Hours:
Schedule is typically the day shift.
However, must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, an employee is typically exposed to varying temperatures, outside weather conditions, dust, loud noise, very low and/or bright light.
Works alone and as part of a team, working in close proximity to others and with equipment.
At times, employee may be exposed to high places.
Work is fast paced.
Travel:
occasional travel may occur throughout the year, primarily local.
Safety Equipment:
Safety equipment typically required while performing the duties of this job include a personal lockout/tagout lock, ANSI approved hardhat and safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes/boots with steel toe protection.
Additional safety equipment required includes hearing protection while performing duties.
Additional safety equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or if it is simply desired by the employee.
Safety Training:
A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual, which consists of online and on the job training.
It may include, but is not limited to, the following:
hazard communication, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, electrical safety, lock out/tag out, personal protective equipment, bloodborne pathogens, firefighting/extinguishers, machine safety, confined spaces, reporting of hazardous conditions, accidents, injuries, near-miss and property damage incidents, evacuation/emergency procedures, first aid, back injury prevention, and job/work area procedures.
Upon transferring to perform the duties of this position for the first time an employee is to be provided New Task Training by a qualified individual until the employee adequately understands the contents of the training, which include job/work area procedures and related topics.
Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee's position.
