30amContract-to-hireThe Pharmacy Engineering Technician 3 oversees logistics, fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, motors and systems.
Performs advanced administrative/operational/customer support duties that require independent initiative and judgment.
May apply intermediate mathematical skills.
Ensures maintenance and continuous improvement of quality and industry standards, evaluates mechanical products to determine cost effectiveness and efficiency.
Oversees and implements prescription drug distribution equipment and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions, reduce cost-to-fill, increase throughput and improve quality.
Performs and Professional 4s tests of related software and equipment to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
Decisions are typically focus on methods, tactics and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects.
Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques.
Works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge.
Must Have Skills:
o Mechanical Engineering Skills:
overseeing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electromechanical machines, hardware and systems.
o Technical Troubleshooting and Problem Solving, testing and evaluationPreferred/ Nice to Have:
o A minimum of 3 years of experience in Automation is preferred, but not required.
As for education, a high school diploma or equivalent is the only requirement.
Key Responsibilities & Actions:
o Equipment Oversight and Maintenance:
o Monitor, oversee, and maintain mechanical and electromechanical machines, tools, motors, and systems used in pharmaceutical settings.
o Conduct routine inspections, diagnose malfunctions, and perform repairs to ensure proper functionality and prevent downtime.
o Develop maintenance schedules and implement procedures to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.
o Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
o Evaluate mechanical products, equipment, and systems to determine cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with quality and industry standards.
o Project Management and Decision-Making:
? Manage logistics, fabrication, installation, and repair projects for pharmaceutical equipment.
o Documentation and Reporting:
? Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
? Generate reports and documentation related to equipment performance, compliance, and improvements.
Additional Notes:
o The Candidate does not need to come from a pharmacy background.
Types of Machines Technicians will be working on:
o The types of equipment vary from packing, labelling, medication dispensing machines, small tape dispensing machines, conveyors, scanners, pill counters, imaging cameras for verification, pneumatic cylinders and solenoids, cappers and package sorting.
Some of the specific equipment used are Auto Bagger packing machines, ATC (automatic tablet counters) built and designed by McKesson, Intermec/Honeywell and Zebra Printers and labellers, SureKap and E-Pak cappers, NPI sorter, SMC pneumatics, Flex link conveyors, Nedco conveyors and Hytrol conveyors.
