Job Description:
Technical/Functional Skills -MUST HAVE SKILLS:
The Splunk Engineer of Performance and Tools Engineering (P&TE) is responsible for leading the analysis, design and implementation considerations related to Splunk tool recommendation, configuration and automation technology that drive improved performance, increased availability and reduced volatility across enterprise. Responsible for the technical direction of performance engineering and monitoring solutions, providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value.
Roles &
Responsibilities:
Ideal candidates will posses expert practical knowledge with installation, configuration and the Analytics of Event management and reporting using Splunk.
Ideal candidate will posses some practical knowledge with monitoring technologies and proficient in at least four or more of the following areas: Distributed Hardware, Network, Storage (attached and SAN) Virtualization Hypervisors (VMWare/ESX) Mainframe (IMS, CICS)
Possess some knowledge of monitoring tools in the APM space - CA Wily & Nimsoft, Compuware Gomez, BMC BPPM
Experience troubleshoot complex application performance/availability issues within numerous technologies
Possess ability to prioritize, analytical skills, and demonstrates Initiative - follows through
Experience in requirements gathering and designing testing to validate capabilities
Possess ability to be detail oriented; manage multiple tasks, problem solves and decision making skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with sense of urgency
Standard exceptions management process experience
Experience with infrastructure architecture development framework processes and artifacts
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with strategic vision, ability to adapt strategic initiatives to respond to changing technology trends
Ongoing completion of all training and testing requirements to receive TCN Track A Foundational Level certifications
Experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends.
Requires expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design and integration with a detailed understanding of applicable programming methodologies
Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools
Bachelors Degree in
computer
Science or equivalent experience
Technical Certifications a plus
