This position is to support the application and business intelligence development within the American Express Global Business Travel supporting corporate travel users. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Work with the team to ensure the quality of coordinated business functions.
o Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues thru resolution Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Collaborative work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented culture
o Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and execute against deliverables under deadlines and competing priorities
o Highly focused, organized, and detail-oriented
o Design and support the strategic direction for the data warehouse environment
o Lead data architecture for various layers of DW including Enterprise data hub, ODS, EDW and Data Marts
o Lead the design and support the deployment of the DW/BI Architecture, including:
o Data repositories, tools and archiving strategy and processes
o Reporting and information delivery environments, tools and techniques
o Data acquisition, transformation and delivery environments, ETL tools and techniques
o Metadata environment and the data dictionary
o Master Data Management
o Data Quality measurement and improvement
o Change management and communication efforts
o At least 7 years of professional experience and minimum of 6 years of database analytics experience required
o Experience with or more of the following ETL tools: Informatica, Ab Initio, Golden Gate, SSIS
o Strong technical, analytical skill set (SQL, predictive modeling skills a plus)
o Experience on one or more of the following databases: UDB, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, or Netezza
o Comfortable operating within a Unix/Linux environment
o Working in a Hadoop environment. Programming languages, such as Python, a significant plus
o Proven ability to sift through data, identify critical information, analyze, develop hypothesis and make recommendations to broader audience required
o Demonstrated understanding of the principles of rigorous experiment design & analysis
o Demonstrate expertise on Data Warehouse design methodologies and best practices
o Has experience with one or BI tools like Microstrategy, Business Objects, Qlikview
