Summary:
It's an exciting time to come on board with the Division of Technology Services (DTS) as the department is currently seeking an Exchange/Lync 2013 Administrator to join their team. This position will configure and administer servers and perform both technical and coordination roles in the solution construct, trouble shooting, planning, implementation and managing a complex Exchange environment. This person will manage the more than 11,000 mail enabled objects, to ensure availability and performance expectations are met.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Minimum 3 to 5 years of working experience in planning, designing, deploying, managing/ troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server (2010, 2013) systems as well as the following areas: DNS, Windows Server 2008 / Server 2012, and Windows PowerShell.
Working with and troubleshooting the following technologies - SMTP, DNS, Outlook Anywhere, and Outlook Web App (OWA), Exchange ActiveSync and Message Transport / Mail routing.
Must have a high level working knowledge and understanding of messaging systems to address complex issues quickly.
Monitors the availability and functionality of messaging environment for optimal performance.
Performs system upgrades and updates
Must have professional experience using all versions of Windows server, in particular server 2008 and 2012, as well as be knowledgeable in Active Directory, DNS, network layout, and load balancing hardware.
Technically knowledgeable and customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional manner.
Should have a working knowledge of PCs and Messaging related applications (Outlook 2010 and 2013).
Knowledge of spam filtering rules and mail flow process is preferred, to support spam filtering and encryption products.
Technical expertise in the areas of messaging systems, configuration, performance tuning, and security.
Understanding of how O365 services interact with an on premise solution.
Creates and maintains all messaging systems documentation.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Configuring and managing Exchange backup solutions (testing database restore functions).
Configuring and managing e-mail security devices (e.g. Global Certs, Exchange Hosted Encryption, etc.).
Experience using PowerShell to script tasks for automation and to administer Exchange.
Planning, designing, configuring and deploying Microsoft Lync 2010/2013 utilizing the high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
Track record of managing projects to completion.
Excellent teamwork abilities and written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented, organized and possess self-management and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and projects.
Certifications preferred but not required.
