Department Overview
As part of the Apollo Technology Information Security Team, you'll play a key role in driving the vision for the future of education. This Security Analyst within the Information Security Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) team will be responsible for identifying and documenting; IT security risks, remediation plans and ownership. The Analyst will provide advice and consultation to Apollo business units, compliance teams, legal counsel, business units, vendors, IT departments and project teams.
Position Summary
The Security Analyst assists with defining the framework for security standards and compliance of Apollo's security controls. They provide assistance with all Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance initiatives as needed.
Primary Accountabilities
This role serves assists as a security interface and knowledge support to internal and external consumers of the Information Security Program. The Security Analyst collaborates with business representatives, systems development and other technology groups for establishing business security requirements, functional security requirements, security solution options and implementation plans. The holder of this position will assist with ensuring:
Apollo policies and standards are consistent with successful implementation in the Apollo environment.
that all Apollo processes maintain compliance to internal and external regulations, security policies, standards, and procedures, including but not limited to PCI, SOX, and GLBA.
they monitor and recommend changes in standards that affect application security, especially in the area of privacy and identity theft
cooperation and collaboration with information security peers and management to ensure standards compliance on various platforms e.g., OSs, databases, networks, etc. upon which application development group rely for compliant applications
initiation and promotion activities foster information security awareness and education among all relevant teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively assess potential items of risk and opportunities of vulnerability on technology and applications
Provide guidance and consultation for remediation of applications
Assist with establishment of security controls and procedures and track compliance against those controls
Participate with the business in PMO and Change Control processes to ensure appropriate security tests and standards are integrated into those processes
Provide information security and data protection support for respective business units (Includes responding, reporting and documenting information security system problems and incidents)
Consults with business to evaluate and assist with development of solutions that meet the requirements of current information security policies and standards
Support information security projects, initiatives and assessments to committed timelines, budget and compliance requirements
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
A minimum of 2 years progressive IT security skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
