Assessment Research Manager (academic/IR focus)

Overview

The Office of Assessment is seeking a collaborative team member to support institutional research projects and survey research related to the assessment of student learning, student service, and co-curricular outcomes. Works to ensure the reliability and validity of University assessment and survey instruments and recommends changes and enhancements as appropriate. Provides technical research and survey development assistance to internal parties. Assists in the development of rubric calibration, faculty norming, and data analysis training materials and processes.


The ideal candidate will have experience working with assessment and or other student data to make recommendations and offer guidance to stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Manages the administration of nationally-normed survey instruments, e.g. CLA+, NSSE, SAILS.

  • Works as part of a collaborative team to ensure the reliability and validity of University assessment and survey instruments and recommends changes and enhancements as necessary.

  • Provides technical research and survey development assistance to internal parties as needed or requested.

  • Develops, administers, and analyzes surveys related to assessment of student learning, student support, and co-curricular outcomes.

  • Prepares summary reports, data visualizations, and presentations of survey and other research findings.

  • Assists in the development of rubric calibration, faculty norming, and data analysis training materials and processes for campus faculty assessment liaisons, college/school leadership, and other University staff.

  • Participates in the research and scholarship of assessment.

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of academic survey trends and requirements to ensure the University meets established standards.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.


Qualifications

Basic
Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in statistics, research methods, or psychometrics, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution required.

  • Three years of experience in academic setting required. Direct experience with assessment of student learning or competency-based education is a plus.

  • Knowledge of assessment theory, strategies, instruments, and data collection and analysis methodologies as demonstrated through three years of experience.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Strong experience with software such as Microsoft Office Excel and data analysis software such as SPSS

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to solve complex problems using excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to act as a resource to staff regarding data collection and analysis methodologies

  • Strong organizational skills, detail- and results-oriented

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
