Summary Description of Position
The Director, HR for the Mountain West Division of Vulcan Materials will be responsible for all Human Resources strategies and activities, including: staffing and selection, training and development, succession planning, performance management, labor relations, organizational development, job evaluation, union avoidance, policy development and administration, regulatory compliance, compensation and benefits administration, EEO/AAP, employee recognition, employee relocation, acquisition/divestiture and due diligence activities, reduction and severance programs, internal communications and community relations support.
This position will supervise managers, generalists, administrators, and safety, health and environmental professionals within their division HR department. The Director must function as an effective member of the Division President's team, providing insight and counsel, as well as understanding the organization and how to be an agent of change within the organization.

Other Requirements
This position requires knowledge and awareness of mining and construction site hazards.
May be required occasionally to use protective gear and to take other precautions when in or near a mining/construction site.
Local and regional travel by automobile and periodic need to travel by airline
Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology
Ability to work in a stressful, deadline oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision making
Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
Education:
A Bachelor's degree is required. Advance degree and/or HR certification a plus.
Experience:
Substantial experience in areas of human resource management including, training, safety and health, compensation, and benefits administration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of EEO, FLSA, OSHA, MSHA, and AA/OFCCP laws and regulations is necessary. The Director must be intelligent, resourceful, and willing to exercise initiative. The Director must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact effectively with people at all levels in the organization and the general public, including media representatives, community officials, governmental agency representatives, and neighbors. The Director must have an objectives commitment to bottom line results and thus be able to develop the division's human resources consistent with the Division President's strategic objectives. The Director must also possess a high degree of integrity and be a leader with respect to encouraging behavior throughout the division that is consistent with the values and commitments expressed in The Vulcan Way.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
