Clinical Psychologist
Responsible for providing full range of psychological services for both inpatients and outpatients who have severe mental health problems. Administers and interprets psychological tests for patients of all ages to identify organic and functional causes of mental and physical disorders Provides appropriate counseling, psychodiagnosis, and psychotherapy services to patients of all ages Works in a collegial fashion providing consultative services as needed with other disciplines such as social work, psychiatry and family practice to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Degree:
major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below:
Clinical psychology:
For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. Counseling psychology:
For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. License:
Must possess and maintain a valid, current, unrestricted license or certification in any state. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM

GS-13:
Applicant must have completed one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) to qualify for the GS-13 grade level.Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Dealing with high stress situations, providing individual, group or family counseling sessions, preparing written documentation, providing immediate care and services to individuals in a trauma, anxiety, or psychotic crisis state, conducting psychological tests. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
