CJA Voucher Review Clerk

The Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Voucher Review unit is responsible for performing all tasks associated with CJA voucher activities, including attorney appointments, mathematical, technical, and reasonableness reviews, recommendations to judges on attorney claims, data entry and voucher processing in the judiciarys CJA eVoucher system. The CJA Voucher Review Clerks responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for data entry of all Criminal Justice Act (CJA) counsel appointments into the judiciary's eVoucher system. Perform routine clerical functions in eVoucher such as adding and/or updating user records, reconciling documents, reviewing system for duplicate appointments, and updating appointments and representations when needed. Review vouchers for accuracy and completeness and ensure that vouchers are in compliance with the Guide to Judiciary Policy and the District of Arizona Guidelines prior to using eVoucher to certify vouchers for payment. Responsible for assisting all eVoucher users, including attorneys, staff, service providers and judges with all steps of the voucher submission and payment process via telephone and email. Serve as primary contact for scheduling VTC interviews for CJA appointed counsel utilizing an automated scheduling program. Serves as a backup cashier for Finance department. Other various duties as assigned by supervisor. To qualify for this position, a person must have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of general experience, and one year of specialized experience equivalent to work at CL-24 or equivalent. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the possession of, or the ability to acquire, the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.Specialized experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience that provided knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures involving use of automated case management systems, resources systems, use of specialized terminology, and demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws. Such experience is commonly encountered in law firms, legal counsel offices, banking and credit firms, educational institutions, social service organizations, insurance companies, real estate and title offices, and corporate headquarters of personnel/payroll operations.NOTE:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
