We are currently seeking a Data Governance Specialist to join our team.
Preference for candidate to be in the local Phoenix, Arizona area, but will consider remote / work from home for the right candidate based within the US.
For local candidates in the Phoenix commutable area, this role will work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic until otherwise determined.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Responsible for the overall design of the enterprise information architecture, across all data types; Develop comprehensive strategy, roadmap and implementation plans around Governance, Information Lifecycle, Metadata Management, Master Data, Data Integration, Data Security and associated change management
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company s principal information assets
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards, Data Security, & maintenance of an end to end data lifecycle management and adoption requirements across the enterprise
  • Acts as the technology lead supporting and driving Data Governance for the enterprise

Basic
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information architecture and governance design and implementation, with significant influence on overall direction of data governance management
  • Minimum of 15 years of overall experience in major services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing enterprise Information & data assets in a large, complex organization, and proven track record in operating large data governance programs
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and operationalizing data-based guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards etc.
    and proven ability to effectively communicate architectural standards and best practices
  • Design and explain data governance rules by converting business processes to required data governance rules; Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships that result in adoption of organizational change
  • Understanding & operational familiarity of Master Data Management technology landscape, Metadata management, data quality technologies, data stewardship tools and platforms, processes and design principles, use of data catalogues, and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Knowledge of Cloud based big data frameworks such as data lake, relational, Graph and other no-SQL databases
  • Demonstrated communication skills to include but not limited to verbal and written communication, delivering organized presentations, able to tailor message to the audience, and facilitate group discussions with diplomacy and seek diverse opinions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
