Description

To drive the delivery of immigration services with Global Business Partners, site and senior management as well as employees regarding all facets of immigration deliverables and strategy.
Manage the end to end portfolio of immigration work, policies and resources which is critical to the success of assignee management and the management of foreign employees at all company locations.
Ensures company legal compliance in all areas of immigraiton as it relates to assignees in North America, Peru, Chile, Indonesia, United Kingdom and Europe.
Think strategically and act tactically regarding the company's immigration initiatives.

  • Functional expert (Center of Excellence) in all areas of immigration for the company.
    Understand the current state of systems, processes and U.

    Immigration policy and regulations.
    Oversee and initiate complex Immigration processes and filing strategies related to H-1B cap, PERM, Blanket L program, TN, STEM EAD and develop contingency planning options where needed.
    Company Driver/Lead in advising and stratregizing with Senior leadership in delivering immigration solutions to complex issues regarding the company's employees globally.
    Immigration expert in all weekly meeting for the Career Development Program and sites relating to North America foreign national employee visa status, transfers, international moves, and visa renewals.
  • Maintain close relationships and manage external immigration law firm to monitor and ensure correct immigration process and mitigation of Company risks/exposure (e.
    g.
    conduct weekly docket calls).
    Strategize and partner with external immigraiton law firm and in-house legal to ensure compliance and understanding of impacts of immigration change.
  • Lead the company's HR Visa Committee meetings.
    Address concerns, garner approvals and review policy with the committee as required.
  • Oversee assignee work permit process for international assignments to Peru, Chile, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, Indonesia, and other locations.
  • Assists with immigration compliance (LCA files) and recordkeeping.
    Drive immigration compliance with on-boarding of foreign national employees and maintain the company database for immigration process related documents.
    Continue to support tax work required for all Inpats working in the U.

  • Serves as SharePoint administrator and super-user.
    Validates data in several systems and ensures information is accurate and corresponds to other systems of record.
    Main contact for the company's I-9 vendor/software system.
  • Works on project teams to support Corporate HR initiatives as well as International HR program implementation and changes (Sr.
    Generalist team, benefits implementation, software systems, etc.
    ).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources, or closely related field and at least five (5) years of experience with immigration compliance, policy work and immigration preparation/filings while administering U.

    Immigration and International programs, either with a law firm or in-house in an organization with a significant volume of immigration supported employees; OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and at least nine (9) years of experience with immigration compliance, policy work and immigration preparation/filings while administering U.

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator.
    Occasionally work will be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
