1 of 50
Vehicle Description This is an incredibly preserved original 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz that has had the same loving owner for the past 43 years.
This is a true 52,000 mile survivor with its original Desert Gold Poly paint, original chrome and all original interior.
This runs and drives beautifully and would be amazing to show in any concours Preservation Class.
This is a car you would not want to restore as it is just gorgeous and special as a survivor.
The Biarritz was over $7,400 when new.
Mr.
David Garfield bought her in 1979 in Michigan.
She had accumulated a mere 48,000 miles by that time.
Mr.
Garfield took great pains to keep the Biarritz original and well preserved.
He had her faithfully serviced and maintained to be a safe driving car and even participated in the Woodward Dream Cruise one year.
Other than normal service and maintenance, Mr.
Garfield added a new correct Ivory convertible top and new tires.
She is in incredible condition today, running and driving well and looking great! The livery is all its original factory paint in the beautiful Desert Bronze Iridescent (Paint Code 98).
This is a gorgeous color that we would describe as a mixture of copper, pink and champagne.
The paint has a beautiful shine and luster as only lacquer can produce.
The paint has small imperfections as one would expect from 64 years and 52,000 miles.
The chrome and stainless trim is overall beautiful, with the bumpers, headlight surrounds and grill looking very nice and certain other trim pieces showing pitting.
We created a video reviewing this in detail.
The Biarritz has the Sabre wheels that are also original and show similar pitting.
These are stunning original optional wheels that look great on the car.
The Ivory power convertible top is newer and in excellent condition today.
The interior is is all original and stunning in its Coronado Copper Metallic Leather and tall pile carpeting (Trim Code 15 with mystery code X).
Again, these are all original.
The leather is very soft and in very nice condition with some seams splitting.
The dash pad and dash are in very nice condition as is the steering wheel, with no cracks or issues.
The radio has been upgraded to a later model Cadillac AM-FM with the original AM radio supplied with the car.
The interior lighting and gauges work well.
The venerable 365 cid V8 delivers 335 hp through the triple two barrel Rochester carburetors (Tri Power).
The drivetrain has accumulated 52,000 miles and performs well today.
Over the years, the transmission and carburetors have been rebuilt.
Everything functions well.
The engine compartment had many of the components painted black over the years.
The Hagerty Value is $95,400 for a No.
3 example, which with this being an incredible survivor is an apt assessment.
The NADA Retail Value is $205,000.
