For Sale: 1947 Buick Roadmaster in Phoenix, Arizona for sale in Phoenix, AZ

1 of 50
Vehicle Description Designed by the great Harley J.
Earl, this 1947 Buick Roadmaster convertible is a true 30,000 mile from new survivor with mostly original paint, interior and chrome.
This would perform well in Preservation Class events and drives wonderfully as only low mileage original cars can.
Living its life in California, Washington and Arizona, this is a rust free and very nice and solid example.
This Buick has been owned for at least 35 years by a collector of very special, limited production cars, Stanley Jason.
Mr.
Jason has now passed, but records indicate that he bought this Buick sometime before June of 1987 which, by then, this Roadmaster had accumulated a mere 28,444 miles.
Prior service records indicate that by February of 1966 it had accumulated just 13,717 miles since new.
The Carlsbad Black (Paint Code 01) lacquer paint is largely original and by using a paint meter it is obvious that certain panels were likely touched up over the years.
Most of this paint is the original factory paint.
This is an incredibly original car with beautiful paint quality.
There are many smaller touched up areas from scratches, mostly around the hood area (a common issue if the hood is opened or closed without due care).
The paint has very nice shine and luster.
The front and rear bumpers have likely been rechromed at one point.
The rest of the chrome is good to very good overall, with only light scratches from normal use and some light pitting on the door cap trim.
The white convertible top is presumably is an older a replacement and in very nice condition.
We have rebuilt the hydraulic pump motor so all the hydraulics work well.
The interior is, from what we can ascertain, all original and in beautiful condition overall.
It appears as though the upholstery had seat covers from new as they look amazingly nice.
The red leather and tan Bedford cord inserts are in excellent condition with only a few tiny holes from use or moths.
The upholstery overall is in excellent original condition with very little patina.
The carpet shows the most wear since they were never covered.
The dash and steering wheel are in beautiful original condition.
The two front windows and the front seat are powered and operated well.
The inspection report covers the details, but most everything works well.
This Buick is accessorized well with driving lights, bumper guards, spotlight and Sonomatic pushbutton radio with antenna.
The engine is beautifully detailed and while most of the engine compartment is original, the engine has been repainted and looks great.
The 320 CID five main bearing straight eight runs beautifully and the 144 BHP provides 276 ft lbs of torque for smooth performance.
The three speed manual transmission shifts beautifully and this example is tight and solid due to its low mileage.
The ride is smooth with its long 129 inch wheelbase.
Of the nearly 12,000 Buicks produced in 1947, only about 4ere the Roadmaster convertibles.
And this must be one of the most low mileage, original examples extant.
