Vehicle Description 1959 DODGE CUSTOM ROYAL 4DR, NEW MEXICO CAR We bought this cool queen of patina from a lady in New Mexico a year or two ago.
She had owned the Dodge for 40 years, the only car she ever owned and she bought it from the original owner, a old lady on her street who bought the Dodge new in Roswell, New Mexico in 1959.
The second owner had to stop driving the Dodge after an accident at work and it has been sitting unused for a few years before we bought it.
So we did a bunch of service work, cleaned the fuel tank, replaced fuel hoses, rebuilt the brakes, rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new battery, we had the front seat recovered using original material etc.
The Dodge starts and runs and stops now.
I personally really like the patina on the exterior body, it is genuine, not faked and it gives the Dodge a ton of personality.
The Dodge was ordered with a lot of extras, including factory AC.
All AC components are still with the car even though the AC compressor is in the trunk.
PS, PB, tinted glass, padded dash (removed since it was dry), radio, chromed hood ornament, chromed rear louvers and more.
The original paint is mostly burned off by the hot New Mexico sun, the potmetal chrome is absolutely excellent.
Cool old Custom Royal at a very fair price.
